Introducing SunHawk Rituals: DESIGNED HERE IN AUSTRALIA

Introducing SunHawk Rituals: DESIGNED HERE IN AUSTRALIA

There was a moment I realised something simple.

Nine years ago, while travelling for work in India, I knew I was pregnant with my first child. I was standing between phases of life - still immersed in design and travel, yet aware everything was about to shift.

There is something about that in-between space. You begin to notice what you want to carry forward. What feels grounding. What feels essential.

I found myself drawn even more deeply to textiles, pattern, and the quiet intention behind handmade objects.

I didn’t know it then, but those threads would eventually become SunHawk Rituals.

Yoga was always part of my life.
But I am not a yogi.
I am a designer.

And I began to notice something.

Most yoga mats are designed for performance.
For studios.
For sweat.
For being rolled up and put away.

But what about the practice between classes?
The morning light in your living room.
The ten quiet minutes before the day begins.

I wanted to design something that belonged there.

SunHawk Rituals was created for the woman who believes beauty shapes behaviour - the one building a home that feels intentional and carving out ritual in a full life.

Each mat is designed here in Australia, art-led, sustainably considered, and made to feel as good as it looks.

Not equipment.
An object of presence.

Designed to stay out & stand out.

The Heart Behind the Collection

These mats are designed with a coastal soul, soft textures, calming colour palettes, expressive line work, and prints that feel like quiet stories told through art.

Each one is a sanctuary in its own right.

I wanted to design something that looks at home in your home.
A piece that feels like an invitation.
A small rebellion against the idea that functional things can’t also be beautiful.

Your mat is not just equipment.
It’s a space you return to for movement, for stillness, for grounding.

Mine is where I stretch before the house wakes.
Where my kids colour and sprawl.
Where I breathe, roll, think, and lie still for five stolen minutes.

These mats are made for all of it.

Design That Lives Out, Not Packed Away

Each SunHawk mat is:

• Art-led: featuring original designs created to feel elevated, modern, and expressive.
• Thoughtfully crafted: Australian designed with eco-conscious materials chosen for comfort and durability.
• Made to stand out: a mat that complements your space instead of cluttering it.
• Designed to stay out: because the more you see it, the more you use it.

Why Materials Matter

In a world full of disposable products, I wanted to create something that felt different. Quality you can feel under your palms, support you can trust, and finishes that respect both your skin and the world around you.

Your mat should last.
Your mat should be kind to your skin & the environment
Your mat should feel like a space that holds you.

Every detail, from the surface materials to the natural rubber base, to the texture that becomes grippier as you warm, is part of that intention.

What Comes Next

This is only the beginning. More art. More collaborations. More design led by feeling as much as function.

SunHawk Rituals is the weaving together of everything I love:

Design.
Motherhood.
Ritual.
The softness of slowing down.
The boldness of creating something new.

I am so proud to share this first collection with you -
and grateful you’re here as this unfolds.

Welcome to SunHawk Rituals.
Where your practice becomes a place to come home to.
