About SunHawk Rituals

Designed to Stay Out and Stand Out

SunHawk Rituals began with a simple realisation.

I practised more when my mat was already out. Not stored away. Not an afterthought. Visible. Part of the room.

I have always had an emotional response to objects in my home. The way light hits a textured fabric. The weight of a well-made piece. The quiet pull of something beautiful that earns its place.

My career began in industrial design, studying how form and function shape the way we live. I then spent over twenty years in the surf & skateboarding industry as a Fashion Designer and Design Manager, travelling internationally for research, factory development and material sourcing. I wandered through art markets, worked closely with textile mills, and built collections grounded in craft, colour and material integrity.

SunHawk is the weaving together of that experience.

It is a design studio creating functional objects with presence.

The yoga mat is the first object.

Each mat is designed in Australia and developed over months of material testing and refinement. A considered 5mm structure for balance and support. A natural rubber base for grounded grip. Limited art-led prints inspired by coastal light and contemporary Australian culture.

These are not accessories to hide.

They are objects designed to live beautifully in your space. When something is both functional and considered, it invites you back to it.

SunHawk Rituals is just the beginning. Future collections will expand into artist collaborations and textile pieces, continuing to explore the relationship between design, material and daily life.
